Dress Code
Morecambe Golf Club promotes a high standard of etiquette, and respect for others, throughout all aspects of the game of golf and membership of our Club. These rules are to make members, guests and visitors feel welcome and comfortable within our Club.
Gentlemen.
Trousers/Chinos can be full length or else tailored shorts. Please do not wear blue denim, combat trousers, cargo pants, track suit bottoms or football shorts.
Shirts with long or short sleeves must have a fastening on the front and unless designed otherwise be worn tucked into the trousers or shorts. Rugby or football tops should not be worn.
Socks may be long or short but if worn with shorts must be predominantly plain.
Ladies.
Trousers, ¾ length tailored trousers may be worn or skirts designed for golf. This includes golf dresses, tailored shorts, skorts and appropriate golf shirts (with or without sleeves).
Shirts with out or without sleeves should have a front fastening and cover the waistband of the trousers or skirt.
Socks may be colour coordinated with the trousers or skirt.
Shoes
These should only be approved golf shoes with either hard or soft spikes.
Shoes worn on the course should not be worn in the club lounges.
Please ensure all footwear and clothing are smart, and not torn or soiled
Please note that the wearing of incorrect attire will be challenged by club officials or members of staff and, in some cases, it might result in you being asked to leave. Persistent offenders may be asked to discuss their breaches of the club rules at a disciplinary meeting.
In the Clubhouse.
Like many clubs throughout the UK we have relaxed our dress code considerably to reflect modern trends. However we do ask that attire in the clubhouse meets with the standard of ‘smart casual’.
This does not include the wearing of flip flops/ beach footwear, athletic vests, track suit bottoms, caps, work jeans.
Mobile Phones
It is requested that mobile phones are kept on silent and calls made, or received inside the main clubhouse, are to be in the foyer area only.
Smoking and E-Cigarettes
The club operates a no smoking policy including e-cigarettes in the clubhouse.
Club staff are authorised to approach those that are not adhering to the regulations. This may result in a request to leave the Course or Clubhouse.
